~Knitting with the Magic Loop

The "Magic Loop" isn't just for socks!  We will look at the different applications for using this method for any "knitting in the round" project so you can toss your double pointed needles.  Our project will be a pair of leg-warmers for a little girl.  If you would rather work on the sleeves for a sweater, go ahead and bring in your project.

Learn to make cables with or without cable needls, turn rows, stripes in the round and strip placement>  We will also discuss jogless jogs.

~Spin on In Group
Bring your drop spindle or your wheel.  From beginners to advanced.  Beginnners will start by using a drop spindle or learning how to spin yarn.  The more advanced student will learn to spin different types of fiber also selecting a pattern and learn to spin to the pattern.

Once you are confident in Advanced Beginning Knitting skills, we highly recommend you join a Knitting Help Group!  These groups are "you choose" open project.  An instructor will help you through your project challenges and questions.

Looking for a fun activity you can share with your kids?  This class is for a parent and child to learn to knit together.  Amy will teach you how to cast-on, knit, purl, bind-off, increase and decrease.  Supply list will be provided when you sign up.

~Betts Series (NEW SESSIONS!!)
Introducing the Betts Series!  This is a series of classes designed to teach you to be a more detailed knitter.  Betts will take you through everything it takes to understand the structure of knitting.! 
#1 Cast on, Ribs, Bind off
In this class a variety of cast ons will be learned including Long-tail, German, Knitted, Cable, and Provisional.  We will discuss the comparisons and cntrasts and where each one may be used. 
Along the way, we will also compare a few ribs such as K1, P1 and K2, P2.  We will also discuss a few bind offs.
#2 Gauge
In this class we will be discussing the importance of measuring your gauge accurately.  You will knit your swatch with a Size 7 needle so that we can compare them.  Please bring to class two swatches-one untreated (not washed) and the other is treated (washed and blocked).  We will also discuss getting gauge for circular knitting.
#3  Seams
In this class, we will learn the mattress stitch or invisible seam.  We will sew side to side, top to top and top to side.  We will also discuss selvedges, back stitch seam and crochet seam.
#4 Pick Up Stitches
In this class we will learn how to pick up stitches along a row edge, a curved edge and a stitch edge.

~The Great American Afghan

We will be making the Great American Afghan, using Cascade 220.  The class will be once a month.   The techniques will be taught in class by Claudia.
